Developers are kicking off construction on a new apartment community in Frisco.

Dallas-based StreetLights Residential has broken ground on the 358-unit Margo rental community located just west of the Dallas North Tollway.

The project is the third phase of The Canals at Grand Park development.

The 4-story apartment project is located near Cotton Gin Road and will join almost 700 rental units StreetLights Residential has already built in the Canals at Grand Park.

StreetLights started the 152-acre development in 2014 in a partnership with Dallas-based Charter Holdings and Arcadia Realty Corp.

The apartment complex includes a community center, two pools, a lawn with outdoor games, athletic club and game and theater room

“Our tenants tend to be very active – walkability and accessibility to neighborhood amenities are pivotal – they are looking for a great mix of features complete with modern touches,” StreetLights CEO Doug Chesnut said in a statement. “The Margo continues the StreetLights vision and core design philosophy – it is built for longevity and provides a contemporary comfortable lifestyle set in a booming and highly desired north Texas community.”

Residential units in the new project will range from 505 to 2,000 square-feet.

The Margo was designed by architects LRK and Streetlights Creative Studio.

StreetLights Residential is one of North Texas’ biggest apartment builders, with several high-rise projects in the Uptown Dallas area and Deep Ellum.
